Provisional Status
Individuals who have documented the required education but who lack the necessary training/experience may still challenge the ABOR examinations. Upon passing the examinations, these individuals will be designated as Provisional [e.g., MT-P(AAB)] until they document completion of the training/experience in the applicable disciplines, at which time the provisional status will be removed from their certification designation.
Removing Provisional Status from a Certificate
Once you have completed the required training/experience for each specialty in which you are certified, send a written request to abor@aab.org requesting that your “Provisional Status” be removed from your certification.
The AAB Board of Registry will forward a verification of employment form to the employer(s). The original forms must be returned by mail. Copies and emailed/faxed versions will not be accepted.
Once the completed employment verification of employment form(s) is received in the AAB Board of Registry office, your request will be submitted along with the verification of work experience form(s) to the Board for review. You will be notified of the Board’s decision by email.
