From the President
Salu Ribeiro, M.Sc., TS(ABB), ELS/ALS(AAB)

Dear CRB Members,

My term as CRB president is ending, and I would like to thank my current board, membership, and the AAB administration for their support this past year. As I assume the next role within CRB as past president and chair of the 2023 CRB Symposium Program Committee, I look forward to putting together an exciting and innovative meeting for next year.

This year’s presidency was unique and different from traditional years since its creation in 1997, which was led by our first Chairwoman, Dr. Grace Centola, Ph.D., HCLD(ABB). The CRB Symposium and change of presidencies usually held in person during our meeting happened virtually in 2021 as the COVID-19 pandemic was surging in our communities—but that didn’t hold us back in moving our association forward and promoting opportunities in our field. We obtained two scholarships for the future embryology Andrew Runge Memorial Embryology Scientist Research Grant Award. Two grants of $5,000 will be awarded. The grant supports research in fertility-related areas, including andrology and embryology, fertility outcomes, quality improvement, and basic reproductive science. EMD Serono provides funding support.

Lastly, I want to congratulate the newly elected CRB Officers and Board Members:

President Marlane Angle, Ph.D., HCLD/CC(ABB)
President-Elect Charlene Alouf, Ph.D., HCLD/TS(ABB)
Secretary Shawn M. Breen, Ph.D., M.Sc., HCLD/TS(ABB)
Director Member Michael A. Stout, Ph.D., HCLD/ELD/TS/CC/ALD(ABB)
Supervisor Member Linda Morrison, M.Sc.
Medical Technologist Member Jaderica Smith, M.Sc., MT(AAB)

With Health,
Salu Ribeiro
