The CARES Act Provides Temporary, but Not Immediate Relief to Clinical Laboratories

The National Independent Laboratory Association (NILA) and the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB) recognize that the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides regional and community clinical laboratories with temporary relief from PAMA. However, these clinical laboratories are still facing significant financial and operational challenges that are not addressed in the CARES Act.
