Credentialing and Membership Committee – Survey on Impact of COVID-19
Melanie Clemmer, Ph.D., HCLD(ABB)

As COVID-19 substantially impacted many of our clinics for much of 2020, the Credentialing and Membership Committee wants to know how CRB can meet the needs of our membership during the pandemic. We are just as interested in how COVID-19 is still impacting you and your clinic one year later as we were in the beginning of the pandemic. A COVID-19 impact survey was sent to the CRB membership in May 2020 that provided insight into how clinic closures were impacting the membership; those results were discussed last quarter in the newsletter. The same survey with some minor alterations was forwarded to CRB members on April 26, 2021. We have proven to be resilient this last year and expect that to be reflected in the results of this new survey. If you have not yet completed the survey, please follow the link below to take the survey. We appreciate your input.

Impact of Covid Survey

The second major activity of the committee has been to increase traffic on the CRB social media pages. We are going to begin putting out regular (weekly/monthly) ‘poll the audience’ questions to the membership using the social media platforms. While the first several questions will be COVID related, we will move past that topic soon and instead ask questions about common laboratory practices and how they are performed in your laboratory. If you have a topic you want to poll the CRB membership on then pose your question to a committee member and it will be considered.

Check out CRB on social media for 'pop-up' questions in the coming days and weeks! Be sure to follow CRB on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook for updates and to network with your fellow colleagues!

We have continued to work with the AAB/ABB board to discuss exam dates and ways to obtain continuing education credits without having in-person meetings. Look for information from AAB/ABB on upcoming exam dates and locations. If you are finding it difficult to obtain the required CE credits and need assistance, please contact the AAB office. Certainly consider participating in the upcoming webinars that CRB will be offering in lieu of our 2021 in-person meeting.
